On Thursday 15 June, 27 delegates joined us at the Mercure Hotel in Exeter to discuss how property finance is evolving and where Roger Wilkinson (founder of Wilkinson & Grant and former advisor to the Guild of Professional Estate Agents) gave the keynote speech sharing his expertise on the new opportunities in the local property marketplace including Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) in Exeter. Student numbers at the University of Exeter have increased by 24% between 2012-2016 to 22,000 and are expected to grow to 24,000 by 2020.

A recent Savills report highlighted Exeter as a top tier location to invest in student accommodation due to low levels of supply, strong demand characteristics, high occupancy levels, and good prospects for rental growth. Additionally, a Knight Frank report shows student rental growth of 2.54% in Exeter for this academic year.
